A GREENE COUNTY MAN ACCUSED IN A FATAL CAR CRASH LAST DECEMBER IS NOW FACING CHARGES. 36 YEAR OLD TODD ANDREW MATHES IS CHARGED WITH VEHICULAR HOMICIDE IN THE DEATH OF 65 YEAR OLD JOHN ROBINETTE OF MOSHEIM WHO WAS DELIVERING NEWSPAPERS AT THE TIME. MATHES WAS ALLEGEDLY DRIVING A STOLEN NISSAN PATHFINDER AND LEAD POLICE ON A CHASE. THE STOLEN VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE DRIVER’S SIDE DOOR OF ROBINETTE’S CAR. HE WAS KILLED INSTANTLY. MATHES IS ALSO CHARGED WITH EVADING ARREST AND THEFT. HE REMAINS IN THE GREENE COUNTY JAIL ON AN 80-THOUSAND DOLLARS BOND. HE’S SET TO BE ARRAIGNED IN GENERAL SESSIONS COURT TOMORROW MORNING.
