GREENE COUNTY AUTHORITIES ARE INVESTIGATING AN ACCIDENT AT A WAREHOUSE IN THE COUNTY THAT RESULTED IN THE DEATH OF ONE PERSON. EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES DIRECTOR ROBERT SAYNES SAID HIS AGENCY WAS DISPATCHED TO THE WAL-MART DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN MOSHEIM AFTER REPORTS OF A FORKLIFT ACCIDENT. THE VICTIM DIED AFTER TWO FORKLIFTS REPORTED COLLIDED. AUTHORITIES AREN’T SURE IF THE VICTIM MAY HAVE SUFFERED A MEDICAL EMERGENCY THAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT, OR WHETHER THE ACCIDENT ITSELF CAUSED THE FATAL INJURIES. THE VICTIM WAS TRANSPORTED TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL WHERE HE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD. SAYNE SAID AN AUTOPSY WILL BE PERFORMED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF DEATH. THE GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT AND THE TENNESSEE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION ARE CONDUCTING AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE ACCIDENT.
