A SMYTH COUNTY VIRGINIA FACTORY HAS REOPENED FOLLOWING A CHEMICAL SCARE THAT SHUT DOWN THE FACILITY EARLIER THIS WEEK. THE PROBLEM WAS AT GENERAL DYNAMICS ON JOHNSTON ROAD. AN UNKNOWN CHEMICAL LEAK FORCED AN EVACUATION OF THE FACILITY ON MONDAY. OFFICIALS DISCOVERED A FIVE GALLON BUCKET OF RESIN REACTED WITH ANOTHER SUBSTANCE, CAUSING THE INSIDE OF THE BUILDING TO FOG UP. NO PERMANENT DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED IN THE INCIDENT AND NO ONE WAS HURT. EVERYTHING IS NOW BACK TO NORMAL.
