It was a cowlick of a different nature that raised a Hawkins County man’s hair. Jerry Lynn Davis called the sheriff, saying his neighbor’s cows had been licking his house and damaging it. Davis’ house is only a couple of feet from a fence over which cows were reaching to lick his home. Davis told Deputy Chris Funk the curious cattle had also ripped off a window screen, cracked a window and pulled down a gutter. Funk reached the owner of the cattle, who said he would make sure it didn’t happen again. The deputy’s report doesn’t indicate why the cows found Davis’ home so tasty.
