Hawkins County Leaders Could Once Again Consider A 40 Dollar Wheel Tax Increase. However, It Will Take Only One Vote By A Commissioner To Prevent An Out-Of-Order Resolution Increasing The Tax. Tennessee Comptroller Jason Mumpower Warned County Leaders Last Week That Failure To Approve A Balanced 2017-18 Fiscal Year Budget By July 1st Will Result In A State Takeover Of The Spending Plan. The County Is Trying To Bridge The 1.6 Million Dollar Revenue Deficit.
