Hawkins County Leaders Are Expected To Tackle The Controversial Proposed 40-Dollar Wheel Tax Increase Today. If The Tax Is Approved And No One Petitions For A Referendum Election, Then It Most Likely Will Go Through. If The Tax Is Approved, It Would Cost County Residents 96-Dollars Annually, Which Would Rank The County 10th Highest In The State.
