A Mountain City Police Officer Charged In A Federal Drug Investigation Has Agreed To A Plea Deal. 44 Year Old Ronald Shupe, A Lieutenant, Agreed To Plead Guilty After Being Charged Earlier This Month With Possessing Oxycodone With Intent To Distribute And Carrying A Gun During A Drug Trafficking Offense. He Is Accused Of Buying The Drugs From A Confidential Informant Working With The TBI. The Drug Charge Carries A Sentenced Of Up To 20 Years, While The Gun Charges Carries Up To A Life Sentence In Prison. A Sentencing Date In Federal Court Is Pending. Meanwhile, Another Officer, Sgt. Ken Lane, Was Also Indicted On State Charges. He Is Set To Appear In A Johnson County Courtroom On November 21st.
