SCAMS REPORTED IN JOHNSON CITY

A Couple Of Phone Scams Is Being Reported In Johnson City. Lt. Kevin Peters Said One Scam Involves Phone Solicitors Calling Residents Saying They Are A Johnson City Police Officer And They Have An Arrest Warrant For The Victim For Failing To Appear For Jury Duty. The Caller Sates The Intended Victim Can Avoid Arrest By Paying The Caller A Fine. The Other Phone Scam In Which A Person Calls Area Businesses Saying They Are From The Police Department, And Are Asking For Monetary Donations. Police Say Simple Hang Up On Such Callers, And Never Give Out Any Personal Information.
