If Passed, Senator Rusty Crowe Of Johnson City Said Senate Bill 1947 Would Require School Districts Across The State To Start Reporting Instances Of Corporal Punishment Involving Children With Special Needs. Currently, Districts Are Only Required To Report That Data To The Federal Government. In July, An Investigation By Newschannel 11 Identified More Than Two Dozen Northeast Tennessee Schools That Paddled Students With Disabilities At A Higher Rate Than The Rest Of The Student Population.
