The grandfather of a Wise County Virginia toddler badly hurt after an ambulance crash says the family is devastated. Gary Oakes his 3-year-old grandson had been under medical care before the crash that happened early Sunday but didn’t want to elaborate on what he was being treated for. Police say the boy was being taken to a hospital in stable condition when a drunken driver hit the car. Authorities say the boy is now in critical condition. The driver has been charged with driving while intoxicated.
