According To A 2016 Crime Report, Crimes At East Tennessee State University Are Down By Just Over 11-Hundred Offenses Over The Last Five Years. There Was One Rape Reported In 2016 Verses Four In 2015. Robberies Climbed From One In 2015 To Four In 2016. According To Tbi Director Mark Gwyn, The Report Will Be Used To Help Law Enforcement, Institution Administrations And Government Officials In Planning Their Efforts In The Fight Against Crime.

Johnson City Police Said A City Man Has Died From Injuries He Received In A Single Vehicle Accident Over The Weekend. 67 Year Old Steven Bennett’s Truck Left The Roadway, Struck A Utility Pole, And Went Down An Embankment On Cherokee Road At Spice Hollow Road. BLOUNTVILLE AGRI BUILDING READY TO OPEN

A Portion Of A New Multi-Use Agriculture Facility In Blountville Is Almost Ready To Open. The Facility Is Located Off Spurgeon Lane Near Tri-Cities Christian Schools. Of The Two Buildings, The First Has Been Completed And Features A 300-Seat Conference Area With Commercial Kitchen, That Also Houses The University Of Tennessee’s Sullivan County Extension Office. The Second Building Is Still Undergoing Work And Will House A 30-Thousand Square Foot Area For Livestock Shows, Barrel Racing And Other Agriculture-Related Events.

Officers Responded To Cattail Point In Reference To Sometype Of Domestic Altercation. Upon Arrival, They Found Out That Ludolph And His Wife Had Been Arguing Over Wine. He’s Accused Of Pushing Her Down And Trying To Stab Her With A Knife. . Ludolph Is Being Held In The Washington County Detention Center Under A 50-Thousand Dollar Bond. Two Kingsport Men Have Been Ordered In Federal Court To Spend Time Behind Bars For Federal Fraud Crimes. 56 Year Old Jimmy Allen Hulse And 49 Year Old Randy Harkleroad Were Sentenced To Prison For Their Roles In A Mail And Wire Fraud Scheme. The Pair Pleaded Guilty To Submitting 585 False Claims To A Water Heater Manufacturer In Houston, Texas. The False Claims Generated Payments Of Over 310-Thousand Dollars For Labor And A Loss Of Parts Credit For Water Heater Warranty Work That Was Never Performed. Hulse Was Sentenced To 22 Months, While Harkleroad Will Serve 12 Months In Prison.
