Kingsport Fire Chief Scott Boyd Is Recommending A New Fire Station Be Built To Replace The City’s Oldest Facility. The Existing Station Number Two Is An Iconic Structure Located On Crescent Drive At Fort Henry And Center Streets. The Recommendation Is To Build A New Single-Story Three-Bay Facility Adjacent To The Former Legion Pool Site. It Would Feature Room For Administration And  The Fire Marshal’s Office, Which Are Currently Located At Station 1 On Island Street. Money For The Project Is Being Requested. If All Goes As Planned, Construction Could Take Place By The Fall Of Next Year.
