A Proposed Virginia Budget Includes 10-Million Dollars For A Planned Inland Port In Southwest Virginia. The Money Would Be Used For Engineering And Design Of The Facility In The Mount Rogers/Bristol District. Currently, There’s Only One Inland Port Located In Front Royal. At These Locations, Freight Is Transferred Between Truck And Rail. This Project Is Expected To Cost 50-Million Dollars Initially And Bring With It Over 675 Jobs, And Yield More Than A Billion Dollars In Economic Impact.
