Some Carter County inmates who dropped in on their jail administrator’s office are now charged with attempting escape. Chad Louis Royal, Jerry Lee Tolley and Cody Brent Ingram have been charged with felony escape and vandalism. Jail Administrator Bobby Huffman says the three men allegedly climbed up to the ceiling crawl space from their cell and dropped into his office through an access panel. Jailers found the men as they were trying to kick out a window. David Gordon Francisco, Jerry Wayne Harrison and Joshua Glen Pearce were also charged after jailers found them standing by a step ladder beneath a hole in the ceiling of the jail chapel. A hearing is set for February 1st.
