A New Memorial Fountain Design Is Expected To Be Chosen Soon For The Campus Of East Tennessee State University. It Will Commemorate The First Five African American Students Who Desegregated To The Campus In The Late 1950’s. A Previous Fountain In Borchuck Plaza In Front Of The Sherrod Library, Dedicated In 2013, Was Damaged By A Recent Arctic Blast. A Committee Accepted Design Proposals From The Art Community And Has Narrowed The Choices Down To Five Finalists. It’s Unclear When The Final Design Will Be Selected.
