A Road Project In Kingsport Is Expected To Kick Off Next Year. The 84-Million Dollar Project Will Transform Two Miles Of Memorial Boulevard From East Center Street To Briarwood Road And Is Part Of The State’s 10-Year Plan. This Is The First Of Three Phases To Reconstruct Eight Miles Of The Roadway. It Will Include Four Lanes And A Grassy Median All The Way From Center Street To Harbor Chapel Road. It Will Also Include Sidewalks And Curbs. From Harbor Chapel To Briarwood, It Will Become Three Lanes With Two Travel Lanes And An Eastbound Truck Climbing Lane Up The Steep Hill Of Chestnut Ridge. An Exact Start Date For Construction Has Not Been Announced For The Two Year Project.
