Kingsport City School Leaders Have Voted To Move Forward With Using A Large Portion Of Federal Money To Pay For Internet Services Over The Next Year. The School System Is Entering Into A 300-Thousand Dollar Contract With Personal Computer Systems Incorporated To Participate In The Tennessee Education Broadband Consortium. The Federal Funds Will Cover 80-Percent Of The Cost While The Remaining 20-Percent, Which Is Just Over 60-Thousand Dollars, Will Be Paid For By The School System. The Measure Must Now Go Before The Kingsport Board Of Mayor And Aldermen For Final Approval.
