A Proposed Federal Communications Commission Law Would Protect Survivors Of Domestic Violence Who Drive Internet-Connected Cars. The ‘Federal Safe Connections Act’, Would Require Telecom Providers To Unlink Mobile Devices From Family Plans Where The Alleged Abuser Is On The Account. This Would Keep The Abuser From Accessing The Vehicle’s Location Tracking Or Remote Features, Such As Unlocking The Vehicle. If The FCC Adopts The Rule, A Formal Public Comment Period Would Be Opened.
