The Virginia Department Of Forestry Has Announced A Scott County Resident And Part-Time Firefighter Has Passed Away While Fighting A Wildfire Near Garland Drive In The County. He Has Been Identified As James Ward. He Collapsed While Working With A Hand Crew And Later Passed Away At A Local Hospital. Ward Has Worked With VDF For 26 Years. The Cause Of The Fire Is Still Under Investigation And Has Been Contained.
