A JOHNSON CITY MAN ACCUSED OF TRYING TO RUN OVER A POLICE OFFICER HAS WAIVED HIS CASE TO A GRAND JURY. 27 YEAR OLD CHRISTOPHER GREEN IS CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER, AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, FELONY EVADING ARREST, BURGLARY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, AGGRAVATED BURGLARY, AND DOMESTIC VANDALISM. THE CHARGES STEM FROM A JANUARY 29TH INCIDENT IN WHICH GREEN ALLEGEDLY THREATENED TO KILL A MAN WITH A BOX CUTTER DURING AN ARGUMENT ON MEL CIRCLE. HE THEN LED POLICE ON A CHASE TO THE U.S. NATIONAL CEMETERY AT MOUNTAIN HOME WHERE HE CRASHED HIS VEHICLE AND ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO RUN OVER AN OFFICER IN AN ATTEMPT TO FLEE. HE WAS SHOT IN THE FACE BY AN OFFICER. GREEN IS BEING HELD WITHOUT BOND.
