THE MYSTERY SURROUNDING THE DEATH OF A JOHNSON COUNTY TEEN HAS BEEN SOLVED. JOHNSON COUNTY SHERIFF MIKE REECE SAID 19 YEAR OLD WILLIAM DAVID HOPKINS DIED OF HYPOTHERMIA. HOPKINS’ BODY WAS FOUND IN A PARKING LOT ABOUT THREE MILES SOUTH OF MOUNTAIN CITY SUNDAY MORNING. ACCORDING TO AN AUTOPSY DRUGS AND ALCOHOL WERE FOUND IN HIS SYSTEM WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED HIM TO FEEL AS THOUGH HE WAS WARM.
