THE MORE THINGS CHANGE, THE MORE THEY STAY THE SAME IN THE CASE OF A JOHNSON CITY MAN ACCUSED OF KILLING TWO GEORGIA TEENS. 57 YEAR OLD HOWARD HAWK WILLIS HAS BEEN THROUGH SEVEN ATTORNEYS SINCE HIS ARREST IN 2002. LAST WEEK HE FILED ANOTHER MOTION TO HAVE HIS CURRENT ATTORNEYS, T. WOOD SMITH AND GENE SCOTT REMOVED FROM HIS CASE IN ORDER TO GET SOMEONE NEW. WILLIS HAS BEEN ACCUSED OF KNOWING HOW TO MANIPULATE THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM SINCE HIS ARREST, AND SO FAR IT’S WORKED. HE’S CHARGED WITH FOUR COUNTS OF FIRST DEGREE MURDER AND THREE COUNTS OF ABUSE OF A CORPSE IN THE KILLINGS OF 17 YEAR OLD ADAM CHRISMER AND 16 YEAR OLD SAMANTHA LEMMING. A HEARING DATE ON WILLIS’ MOTION IS EXPECTED TO BE SET SOON. MEANWHILE, HIS TRIAL DATE IS SCHEDULED FOR JULY 14TH.
