A New $5 Million Appropriation In Tennessee’s State Budget Will Help Complete A Long-Awaited Cycling Link Between Johnson City And Jonesborough. The Funds, Combined With A $2.4 Million Grant To Jonesborough Last Year, Will Support The Completion Of The First Frontier Trail. The Trail Will Follow The Old Jonesborough Highway Right-Of-Way And Connect To The Tweetsie Trail, Creating A Safe, Eight-Foot-Wide Path For Cyclists And Pedestrians. Officials Say A Small Gap Between The Municipal Boundaries Will Also Be Closed With Additional Grant Funding.
