A Greene County Jury Has Convicted A Man In The Death Of His Five Week Old Daughter. The Jury Found 29-Year-Old Lavelle Scott Guilty Of First-Degree Murder In The February 2020 Brutal Death Of Sophia Flora Fields. Scott Was Sentenced To Life In Prison, Which Means He Would Be 79 When He’s Eligible For Parole. He Was Also Convicted Of Aggravated Child Neglect And Aggravated Child Abuse. He Will Be Sentenced On Those Charges On July 30th. His Attorney Is Expected To File A Motion For A New Trial. Scott Showed No Emotion As The Verdict Was Read.
