Kingsport City Leaders Are Revising Their Budget Proposal With A Lower Tax Rate. The Board Of Mayor And Aldermen Reviewed A Revised City Budget That Would Reduce The Originally Proposed Property Tax Rate. The New Proposal Would Lower The Rate To $1.73 Per $100 Of Assessed Value While Still Covering Planned Expenditures. The New $110 Million Budget Would Generate About $9.8 Million In Revenue, Down From The Original Projection. The Budget Maintains Funding For Employee Pay Raises And City Facility Maintenance.
