The Southwest Virginia Health Careers And Workforce Partnership Has Formed A New Alliance Bringing Together Schools And Health Care Providers To Promote Workforce Development In The Medical Field. It Involves Ballad Health, Regional Community Colleges, Four-Year Institutions And Public School Systems. According To A Recent Survey, Southwest Virginia Needs Over 860 Nurses And Nearly 300 Licensed Practical Nurses. Organizer Karen Brown Says They’re Trying To Create A Health Workforce Pipeline That Meets Regional Demand. The Partnership Serves 14 Counties And Three Cities Including Bristol, Galax And Norton.
