A Multi-Million Dollar Project To Bring New Education And Training Options To Carter County Is Officially Underway. Crews Began Demolition On July 7th At The Future Site Of The Carter County Higher Education Center In Elizabethton. The Facility Will Combine Programs From Northeast State, Tcat Elizabethton And Carter County Schools. Mayor Patty Woodby Said The Project Will Give Local Students And Workers New Opportunities Without Leaving Home. The 40-Million-Dollar Center Is Expected To Open In Fall 2026 And Will Feature Training Spaces, Classrooms, And Labs To Meet Academic And Technical Needs.
