Property Tax Rates Are Increasing For Kingsport Residents In Both Sullivan And Hawkins Counties. The Board Of Mayor And Aldermen Voted To Approve The Rate Increases For Fiscal 2025-26. The New Property Tax Rate For The Sullivan County Portion Is Set At $1.67 Per $100 Of Assessed Value, 38 Cents Higher Than The Tennessee-Certified Rate. The Hawkins County Portion Will Be $2.49 Per $100, About 58 Cents Higher Than The Previous Rate. Aldermen Betsy Cooper, Colette George, Gary Mayes And James Phillips, All Voted Against The Increases.
