APPY SCARE IS OVER

Mar 4, 2008

Appalachian State University in Boone North Carolina has lifted a campus-wide lockdown and school officials say authorities no longer believe there is a threat to the campus. The school imposed the lockdown yesterday after a man was reported carrying a gun nearby. The school said no further sightings of the suspect had been reported. Police said a man returning to an off-campus apartment apparently interrupted an attempted break in. The witness claims the man had a gun in his hand and was running toward campus. After the scare, classes were canceled last night, but are scheduled to resume this morning.
