A Greene County man has been indicted on bank robbery charges out of Unicoi County. 40 year old Jeffrey T. Melton of Bulls Gap was arrested at a Timber Ridge Road residence in Greene County a day after the January 11th robbery of the Bank of Tennessee on Main Street in Erwin. Authorities say Melton walked into the bank and handed a note to a teller demanding cash, then left with $3,800 cash. Melton is charged with robbery and theft over 1-THOUSAND DOLLARS. HE remains held without bond pending aN appearance in Unicoi County Criminal Court on March 24TH.
