Charles Theodore Stiltner

A WASHINGTON COUNTY VIRGINIA MAN HAS BEEN INDICTED IN THE NEARLY FIVE YEAR OLD MURDER OF A BRISTOL VIRGINIA WOMAN. 45 YEAR OLD CHARLES THEODORE STILTNER IS CHARGED WITH SECOND DEGREE MURDER IN THE OCTOBER 2002 DEATH OF 23 YEAR OLD CHRISTINA HART. HER BODY WAS FOUND FLOATING NEAR THE SHORELINE OF SOUTH HOLSTON LAKE. AN AUTOPSY INDICATED THE CAUSE OF DEATH WAS DROWNING. AUTHORITIES SAID HER DEATH OCCURRED THREE WEEKS AFTER SHE REPORTED SHE WAS RAPED IN SULLIVAN COUNTY TENNESSEE. JIMMY STAPLETON IS CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED RAPE AND FOUR COUNTS OF AGGRAVATED ASSAULT. STAPLETON IS SET TO GO TO TRIAL IN JANUARY. MEANWHILE, STILTNER IS BEING HELD IN THE SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA REGIONAL JAIL IN ABINGDON WITHOUT BOND. HE WILL BE ARRAIGNED IN CIRCUIT COURT ON AUGUST 2ND. HE FACES UP TO 40 YEARS IN PRISON IF HE’S CONVICTED.
