Another sinkhole has opened up on the property of a closed Unicoi County elementary school. Unicoi County Director of Schools Denise Brown said the newly discovered hole will be filed with rock, as was a much larger hole that caused officials to permanently close Love Chapel Elementary School. A deputy with the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office discovered the new hole earlier this week. It is about a foot wide and 16 feet deep. The shaft was half full of water. The first hole opened up near the school building in August 2012. It was 120 feet deep and grew to 25 feet in diameter.
