The remains of a World War II veteran from Johnson City Tennessee have been found in France and are set to be buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. WBIR-TV in Knoxville reported that a group of hikers found a makeshift grave marked with the initial ‘H.’ DNA testing confirmed it was Army Pfc. Cecil Edwin Harris of Johnson City, who was last seen alive 69 years ago. Harris was declared missing in action after a mortar hit his platoon in 1945. His son, William Harris, described himself as shocked, tickled and relieved that his father’s remains had been found. The burial is scheduled for Oct. 22.
