The Hawkins County Board Of Education Has Approved A 2014-15 Fiscal Year Spending Plan That Requests A 12-Cent Property Tax Increase From The County Commission. The Proposed Tax-Increase Would Be Used To Partially Rectify A 2-Million Dollar Deficit. The Remaining Deficit Would Be Paid Using Money In The School System’s Reserve. If The Proposed School Budget Makes It To The Budget Committee, It Will Either Be Forwarded On To The County Commission For Final Approval Or Sent Back To The Board Of Education.
