The Tennessee Department Of Environment And Conservation’s Division Of Solid Waste Management Has Decided To Preliminarily Re-Issue A Waste Storage Permit To Nuclear Fuel Services In Erwin. The Mixed Hazardous Waste Storage Permit Allows The Company To Store Roughly 28-Thousand Gallons Of 12-Types Of Radiological And Hazardous Waste In A Warehouse On The Company’s Property. The Proposed Permit Would Reduce The Types Of Waste To Only Three And Would Be Effective For 10 Years. Tdec Is Expected To Make A Final Decision In The Near Future.
