A Memphis teacher has been named the 2014-15 Tennessee Teacher of the Year, While A Local Teacher Was Honored. Karen Vogelsang was presented the award by the state Education Department at a banquet last week in Nashville. Vogelsang is a fourth-grade teacher at Keystone Elementary in Shelby County. During the banquet, the department also recognized finalists who earned Teacher of the Year for each Grand Division. Ashley Carter, a third-grade teacher at John Adams Elementary in Kingsport, was recognized for East Tennessee.
