A Suit Filed By Sullivan County And The County Board Of Education Seeking Nearly 2-Million Dollars In Liquor-By-The-Drink Tax Revenues From Bristol And Kingsport Has Been Dismissed. A District Chancery Court Judge Nullified The County’s Claim That Bristol Owes 1.3 Million While Kingsport Owes Nearly 760-Thousand From 1980 Through 2013. The Law Is Clear That The Funds Should Go To Political Subdivisions That Have Passed Referendums. Neither Sullivan Or Washington Counties Have Passed Those Referendums.
