Work Is Progressing On Plans To Alleviate Overcrowding, Structural And Layout Issues At The Sullivan County Jail. The County Just Approved On First Reading The Resolution For An Engineering Study, Which Will Determine Whether They Can Expand On The Old Jail Or Have To Build A New One. Without This Step, The Jail Risks Losing Accreditation And Causing Numerous Unnecessary Legal Problems And Expenses. An Engineering Firm Is Expected To Be Chosen In Time For The Second And Final Reading On The Resolution In January.
