The Johnson City Police Department Is Looking At Making Upgrades To Its Training Facility Including A New Name. They Hope To Name The Facility After Retired Officer Rick Collins Who Passed Away Unexpectedly In 2015. Friends Say The Honor Is Fitting For A Hero They Saved Countless Lives By What He Taught In The Classroom. Collins Served In Law Enforcement For More Than 30 Years. Johnson City Police Hope To Install And Upgrade Equipment To Improve Firearms, Tactical And Active Shooter Training. A Proposal Is Expected To Be Presented Soon To The City Commission For Consideration On The Naming Of The Training Facility.
