Hawkins County Leaders Could Soon Vote On A Resolution That Would Reduce The Number Of County Commissioners From 21 To 14. This Is An Effort To Help Streamlining And It Would Also Help Reduce A Tiny Portion Of A 2-Million Dollar Deficit Facing The County. There Are Currently Seven Districts In The County, Each With Three Commissioners. The Change, If Approved, Would Take Effect With The 2018 County Election. The County Commission Meets Again January 23rd.
