A Proposal To Reduce The Size Of The Hawkins County Commission Has Been Removed. If County Residents Want The Number Of Commissioners Brought Down From 21 To 14, They’ll Have To Do It By Referendum. The County’s Seven District Currently Have Three Commissioners. The Proposal Would Have Reduced That To Two Per District. The Community Group Interested In Reducing The Number Of Commissioners To Collect Signatures And Get The Question Placed On The Ballot Of The Next Countywide Election.
