A State Audit Of The Town Of Mount Carmel Has Found Some Issues With The Pay Of The Mayor And Aldermen, Some Problems With The Town’s Purchasing Procedures, And Other Deficiencies. The State Office Of The Comptroller Of The Treasury Conducted An Investigation On Select Town Records Between July First 2015 And March 21st, 2016. According To The Audit, Former Mayor, Larry Frost, Was Overpaid By 4-Thousand Dollars For Routine Meetings With Attorneys And Officials While Aldermen Were Underpaid. The State Suggests Over Payments Should Be Returned To The Town And The Town Should Correct Any Instances Of Under Payments.
