For The Fifth Consecutive Month, The Hawkins County Commission Has Decided Against A Proposed 40 Dollar Wheel Tax Increase. The County Is Trying To Fix A Two Million Dollar Shortfall. Many Commissioners Are Reluctant To Add The 40 Dollars Because It Would Bring The Cost Of Tagging A Vehicle In Hawkins County To 91 Dollars. He’s Already Stated He Won’t Be Taking That Action Because It Would Be A Safety Issue. It’s Back To The Drawing Board.
