Virginia State Police Have Participated In A Two Multi-Agency Traffic Safety Initiatives To Heighten Drivers’ Awareness Of The Need To Respect The Zone When Traveling Through A Highway Work Zone In Southwest Virginia. Along With The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies Concentrated Theirs Safety Efforts On Interstate 81 In The Highway Work Zone At The 104 Mile Marker. The Program Resulted In The Issuance Of 121 Summonses That Included 69 For Speeding, 10 For Reckless Drive, And Seven For Vehicle Failing To Move Over For Emergency Vehicles Stopped On The Shoulder Of The Interstate.
