A Nashville Tennessee Man Who Confessed To The Shooting Death Of Transient In Unicoi County Has Been Arraigned In General Sessions Court. 63 Year Old John Lee Brooks Is Charged With First Degree Murder In The Killing Of 23 Year Old Matthew Ware Who’s Body Was Found At The Overlook Friday Near The North Carolina Border. Brooks Turned Himself Into Police Yesterday After Feeling Guilty By All The News Coverage. He Told Authorities He Picked Up Ware Wednesday While He Was Hitchhiking. Sheriff Kent Harris Said Brooks Confessed To Shooting Ware After He Trashed The Military To His Face And Called Him A Baby Killer Because Of His Service In Vietnam. Ware Was Shot Once In The Chest And Once In The Head With A .40 Caliber Semi-Automatic Pistol. Brooks Told Police The Shooting Took Place Thursday Night, He Meant To Do It And Hopes He Gets The Death Penalty. Brooks Is Being Held Without Bond, And Will Be Back In Court On June 17th.
