Was It A Bird Or Was It A Plane?…Well, Yes It Was A Small Plane That Landed On A Four Lane Highway In Wise County Virginia Over The Weekend. Virginia State Police Officials Said The Pilot, Jerry Wharton, Apparently Ran Out Of Fuel And Was Forced To Touch Down On Highway 23. Luckily, No One Was Injured, But Traffic Had To Be Stopped For A Couple Of Hours While His 1936 Stinson Reliant Plane Was Refueled. The Pilot Was Then Able To Take Off From The Four Lane Highway Without Any Problems And Landed A Few Minutes Later At Lonesome Pine Airport.
