A BENCH TRIAL IS CONTINUING IN CARTER COUNTY CRIMINAL COURT FOR THREE BROTHERS ACCUSED IN A DRIVE-BY SHOOTING THAT LEFT THREE PEOPLE INJURED. ROGER OAKS, THOMAS OAKS AND TERRY OAKS ARE EACH CHARGED WITH THREE COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED FIRST DEGREE MURDER. THE MEN ALLEGEDLY DROVE UP TO A HOME ON WEST STREET IN THE ROAN MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY, MADE THREATS AGAINST A FAMILY AND FIRED A SHOTGUN AT FOUR PEOPLE SITTING ON THE FRONT PORCH. KATHY GRANT, GLARA GRANT AND RICHARD TAYLOR RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES IN THE SHOOTING. THE THREE OPTIED FOR A BENCH TRIAL INSTEAD OF A JURY TRIAL.
