Hawkins County Mayor Jim Lee Says He Is Set To Veto A Resolution Approved By County Leaders To Include The County’s Two Volunteer Rescue Squads In The Emergency Radio System Modernization. Leaders From Both The Hawkins County And Church Hill Rescue Squads Said They Don’t Want To Give Up Their Frequencies Because It Would Be Nearly Impossible To Acquire New Ones. According To Lee, The County’s Rescue Squad Is Not Operating Legally On The Current Main Tower Site. He Also Said The Rescue Squad Will Be Getting A New System That Will Work Better Than It Ever Has With Or Without The Resolution.
