Two brothers convicted of federal gambling charges involving a cockfighting ring in Cocke County have been sentenced to two years each in federal prison. Sixty-four-year-old Kenneth R. Frazier Sr., the owner of the 440 Cockfight Pit near Newport, and his 60-year-old brother, Allen Eugene Frazier, who managed the pit, were sentenced yesterday following their conviction last August. Kenneth Frazier surrendered his part of the pit’s ownership in August after waiving his right to have a jury decide the issue. The case was part of an ongoing investigation into public corruption and illegal activity in Cocke County that began in 2001.
