Food City Has Made A Sizeable Donation To The Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center Foundation. The $27,500 Check Was Presented To The Center Yesterday To Support Its New Simulation Lab For Nursing And Allied Health. It Will Be Housed In A 1,200 Square Foot Classroom Featuring State-Of-The-Art Manikins And Technology. The Facility Will Provide Training To 450 Students Annually Through The Lab, With The Majority Of Those Filling Local Jobs When They Finish Their Education. The Project Is Expected To Cost $1.7 Million. According To Food City, The Funds Will Also Go Toward The Higher Ed Center’s Memorial Scholarship Endowment.
